Milky Wimpshake play London Popfest
The band will be playing London Popfest, February 26-March 1. According to sources at festival cosponsor Fortuna Pop!, Popfest née Tweefest, is going on thirteen years, but debuting in the UK this year. The august lineup also includes Comet Gain, Gregory Webster of Razorcuts fame, and Colin Clary of Popfest Athens and New England vets The Smittens. (Compare Stop the Bombs! with Lovers not Fighters). My friends in England, and friends elsewhere with means: Do you like pop? Do you love life and love? No excuses.
Update (Feb. 17): Milky Wimpshake will be playing as part of a monster lineup on Saturday at the Macbeth. They got tickets. Also, history buffs in the area the Friday before: Roxy Bar & Screen will be screening two DYI films about DYI music, including Slamptumentary, a rarely seen video on the label Pete co-ran in the 1990s. Slampt put out much of the "classic era" Wimpshake releases, as well as uber-influential records by Yummy Fur, Pussycat Trash, and Avocado Baby.
