for a game of Scrabble and perhaps a taste
of wine and whiskey and then a chase
I accepted her offer with good grace
but I didn’t understand what she meant
when she said she didn’t want to pretend
to play Scrabble<\/span><\/p>\n

So she got out that Scrabble board
and all her signals I ignored
And shen she got that triple word score
I was impressed, but she looked bored
and I didn’t understand what she said
and I didn’t know how to defend my honor<\/p>\n

It’s amazing what you can miss
when you treat love like a game of chess<\/p>\n

The wine was going to my head
but I was holding X, Y, and Z(ed)
so I was truly disappointed
when she said, honey, it’s time for bed
Well, I know that it could be worse
but I wish we’d finished the game first.
Oh, well…<\/p>\n
